While some people don’t like the rain because of what it does to their hair and footwear, or because it means we have to lug about a sodden umbrella, there are a whole lot of things that I love about the rain.
Reading a book inside. There’s something infinitely satisfying about curling up on the couch inside the house with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate on a rainy day. I love watching the rain streak (more…)

I often spend an hour or so each day in my local library, musing over a quiet book or watching sleepy university students snooze their way through what is meant to be a study session. One of my favourite perks of the library, though, is not the huge collection of books or the impressive art installations, but rather the glossy black piano that sits upstairs—with an invitation to play it.
And people do. It’s glorious to watch schoolkids belt out (more…)

People often make the mistake of thinking that someone is a hippy just because they have long hair and wear certain clothes. But this is all wrong! A true hippy is someone who has adopted a particular lifestyle.
As far as I’m concerned, you can wear loons, kaftans and beads, but unless you go about things in a certain way then you are never going to be a real flower-child. It doesn’t matter what clothes you wear, which music you (more…)
Going to festivals is brilliant fun, but sleeping in a tiny little tent can be a bore. It’s okay for the first few times, but the novelty soon wears off. After a while you begin to feel really cramped and not being able to stand up is a pain. Getting dressed in a tent really is a work of art, and it takes a lot of practice!
But now things have changed. My boyfriend came across a site on the (more…)

People are obsessed with the way they look. From the newest fashions to the next diet program to hit the market, people are eating these things up. The problem is that they are relying on synthetic based products, potentially harmful chemicals and ingredients to transform themselves. There are more natural ways to look and feel beautiful that are good for you.
For instance, let’s start with the way people eat. Just take a drive down your main road and chances (more…)

I am what is commonly known as a ‘Hippy’. Sometimes people laugh at me but I don’t really mind; after all, I am happy with what I am and I believe that is something very important. If we are unhappy with ourselves, then how can we be happy around other people?
Here are my favourite things about my lifestyle-
ยท I love to wear colourful clothes. It isn’t such a big deal for me because I’m a girl but my (more…)

Tea is essentially of three kinds- black, oolong and green. Black and green tea is made from leaves that after processing are the color their name answers to. Oolong tea leaves are sometimes between the two in color. Among all these tea types green tea is said to be choc-a-bloc with things that are good for health.
Though both green and black tea leaves come from the same plant green tea leaves are green because they are not processed as (more…)

So many people seem to be discontented with their lives today. To hide from their unhappiness, they bury themselves in all kinds of different things that only end up making them feel even worse. They get caught up with; making money, careers, affairs, luxury items, drink and drugs etc. Basically, anything that serves as a distraction from who they are in the Real World.
If only more people would open themselves up to Nature. There are so many wonderful things (more…)

Over the past few years it would appear that Britain is finally becoming more ‘environmentally responsible’. It seems to have taken a long time for us to get to this point, but things are finally beginning to change for the better.
Although, saying that, there is still an awful lot of arguing going on about things such as wheelie bins. Do we need to have a weekly collection for our waste or is a fortnightly one sufficient? There are all (more…)
