Tea is essentially of three kinds- black, oolong and green. Black and green tea is made from leaves that after processing are the color their name answers to. Oolong tea leaves are sometimes between the two in color. Among all these tea types green tea is said to be choc-a-bloc with things that are good for health.

Though both green and black tea leaves come from the same plant green tea leaves are green because they are not processed as much as the other types of teas. This helps to retain most of the health giving nutrients in the leaves. Since black tea leaves are withered, rolled, broken and dried a lot of oxidation takes place which results in the loss of antioxidants which are good for the body.

Here are some health benefits of green tea:

Ø The antioxidants present in green tea helps you get rid of malignant or harmful cells without causing any side effects. Hence it is a great boost in the fight against cancer.

Ø It can actually reduce the bad cholesterol level in your body so your heart is happier.

Ø This tea is your allay in the fight against weight and fat.

Ø The cathechins in green tea prevent plaque and also kill food poisoning bacteria.

Ø All the flavonoids, phytochemicals and antioxidants in green tea helps to build your body immune system. This means that you can fight common colds, many respiratory and bronchial infections and allergies to a greater extent.

Ø It also helps prevent the death of brain cells.

And most of all a cup of the golden colored infusion of green tea is a great way of soothing those frazzled nerves and transporting yourself straight to the peace and calm of a tranquil tea garden. So if your tea is the color green, go right ahead, indulge!

Just before I go, I have really good news on the energy savings front. Enigin has gotten a bit of buzz, it looks like this whole conservation thing is really picking up! Way to go guys!
